Alkalizing supplements to improve sport performance & recovery

There are a number of proven alkaline supplements. These are not foods per se, like the Green Food powder I have already discussed. These are supplements that are created with the specific aim of changing your blood pH and buffer pH level. These began as a method of improving sports performance when it was discovered that high levels of physical activity corresponded with high levels of lactic acid production. The high levels of acid caused inflammation, and sodium and magnesium based supplements reduced the inflammation and neutralised acid overload.

I recently received an email from the managing director of one company producing this form of supplement. He was ecstatic about the results he is achieving for athletes. As we all know, doping is a major problem in all athletics today, and his alkalizing supplements are classified as safe for athletics use; that is, they are a supplement but not a drug.

Studies date as far back as 1937. In the German Weekly Medical Journal, a study

reported that when runners were given an acidifying agent they became more easily

depleted. Conversely, when given an alkalizing agent, they ran harder, longer and

faster. with increases of between 30 and 100 percent! Furthermore, their recovery

time reduced greatly.

We are currently working with a star Aussie Rules player with the Melbourne Demons who has significantly improved his running times to now being in the Top 3 in his club and sped up his recovery primarily through alkalizing.

In addition, Dan Ross, who is widely acclaimed as the fittest Professional Surfer on the Elite World Tour and a Qualified C.H.E.K. Coach says:

“I put a lot of time and effort into all areas of my training – physical, emotional, and mental. I am strict with what fuel I put into my body and after feeling the benefits of Alkalized water, it now plays a vital role in my training and everyday life.”

Till next time, happy alkalizing …
