Our Lucky You Green A and Green B juice are hands down our clients favourites. In fact, many of our regulars now request ONLY the green juice. Green A is a fruit free “green” only, while Green B contains a measured amount of green apple. Our recommendation, consume it first thing on an empty tummy – this is when we absorb best. Wait 30 minutes and then on to your normal routine. So what’s in our bottle of green gold? When it comes to a fresh green juice it’s real difficult to be precise about listing what’s in it from batch to batch. The reason is we choose the most “alive” produce we can get based on the season. There are many different greens of vastly different hues and when you work with them for a while you become an expert on what combines well. Each batch of green juice should taste similar, but not identical, a reward and proof that it is derived from using fresh, seasonal produce.
Lucky You Juice Cleanse Green A Ingredients:
Celery, Cucumber, Silverbeet (2 varieties), Parsley, Cos lettuce, Kale (3 varieties), English Spinach and Lemon
Green juice is VERY potent and highly alkaline. It contains large quantities of enzymes and plant blood or chlorophyll in an easily digestible form. Every ingredient we use has numerous redeeming qualities and together they work to nourish our insides AND our outsides including our skin, hair, gums and nails.
One Green A juice is approximately 150 calories. It has more than 7 grams of protein and less than 1.5 grams of fat. If you mark it against standard RDI tables it is rich in vitamin C, vitamin B6, vitamin A, calcium and the list goes on. It is a wonderful source of proper vital organic sodium. The required remedy for those who have consumed concentrated sugars and starches most of their lives. And the beauty is it is NOT synthetic in any way – it’s the real deal! If you are wondering what is best for me fruit or vegetable juice remember this … fruit juice acts as an internal cleanser and vegetable juice as a builder containing the required vitamins, minerals, amino acids, salts and enzymes.
So could you eat all the vegetables above and garner the same results? No. Solid food requires a long time to digest before your cells get any of the benefits whereas juice is quickly digested and assimilated requiring little to no effort by your body. Read, energy! Less work on digestion often gives many a renewed vigour. THIS is how we need to start each day! Think of juice as a “liquid” food.
How much juice should you consume daily? Valid question and unfortunately varies considerably between individuals. One litre a day for the average healthy adult will often achieve results. One cup or 250 ml/day for children is often suitable. If you join our juice journey by consuming daily raw, fresh fruit and vegetable juice, in time your body will answer that question on your behalf. We keep to 1-2 litres/day and ramp up when feeling less than average. Juice therapy is often used to combat and relieve illnesses both big and small; however, it is best to do this under medical or expert supervision. Clients often ask if they can undertake a juice cleanse when pregnant or breast-feeding. We do not recommend this. When pregnant and breast-feeding, we advocate drinking daily juice as a supplement to a healthy well-rounded diet. Remember fresh juice is raw and unpasteurized for your benefit so please pay close attention to the preparation of your juice and where you source your produce.
Follow these rules if you are juicing for yourself. Pick the best, seasonal produce you can get your hands on. Local farmers markets are often a great way to get produce that has not been stored. Get the best juicer you can afford. An extractor is better than a centrifugal in our opinion, but if the choice is juice or no juice, get what you can. Last ensure you clean your juicer well between uses.
So tell us, can you think of a better way to begin each day?
Have a great week,
Heidy
