Honouring Mothers

Dear Mother,

There are no words to express the gratitude I feel for you. You were my foundation as a baby, always a safe harbor.  Growing up I may not have shown the depth of appreciation you so richly deserved.  We didn’t see eye to eye in my teenage years even beyond.  I challenged you and questioned your direction.  Still, you remained steadfast in your love.  You cried when I cried and rejoiced in my laughter as life progressed in unexpected ways.

Today, with evolving maturity, I see you with new appreciation and admiration.  You could have made different choices.  Instead you gave of yourself in the most magnificent manner.  Without hesitation you changed your life to nurture another with grace and understanding.

Through you I know unconditional love.  You taught me to be strong; true to the convictions of my heart.  Open to the possibilities of life.  You gave me a sense of freedom to express my talents and surpass self-imposed doubt. Forever, I am grateful.

There is a sacred bond between Mother and child.  Yet, it is not only through birth that the bond appears.  Love can transcend the confines of individual family to connect with the collective soul as well as Mother Earth.

The current of divine feminine energy flows within each being.  It is that spark from within that ignites compassionate courage; the drive to make a difference with love.  Humanity is now called to action to care for all living creatures, including the planet.  The flame of transformation is growing around the world, awareness is building and focus centers on the well-being of all God’s children.

A mother’s love is protective and powerful, a source of strength and comfort. It burns deep within the soul’s core.   Today we must bring cohesive awareness to the escalating issues that impact our world: from environmental disasters and disease, to the lack of education and explosive poverty.  Only through a collaboration of hearts, minds and bodies in action can creative, cooperative solutions be found for these invasive problems.

This Mother’s Day let us celebrate love in its purest form!  Offering thanks for our special and dear personal relationships. They may not always seem perfect.  Yet, in truth, all is aligned, for in this unique relationship great lessons for growth present themselves both to parent and child.

Invite the Divine Mother to inspire your thoughts and actions. Find comfort in her care. Become a mirror of kindness leading others with hope and certainty as you journey onward.  Shine brilliantly dear one.  You are a beloved child of the universe and a caretaker of earth.
