Living a busy life as a working mum I recognize the importance of balancing our wellbeing; from making time for rest and relaxation, taking care of our skin and focusing on a diet that includes healthy, natural foods.

I studied nutrition and spend a big part of my life learning about healthy, natural and organic food choices and love sharing the information on the KORA website.  When I learned about the benefits of Chia seeds I wanted to share that with you too!

Rather than counting calories it is really important to eat what is required to keep our body healthy.  Chia contains a rich source of Omega 3, protein, fibre and antioxidants and these tiny little seeds are so great for your health and wellbeing.

Chia has 37% fibre, essential for good digestion and the Omega 3 ALA in Chia is an essential fatty acid that our body cannot produce, so we need to get it from the foods we eat.  Chia also has 20% protein with all 8 amino acids.

Chia seeds are really easy to include in your diet because you can add them to anything you already eat.

I love adding Chia seeds to sheeps milk yoghurt in the morning.  I also gel the seeds in water and then mix the Chia gel into fruit smoothies.  And for a deliciously fluffy omelette I whisk Chia seeds into the egg before cooking, and sprinkle a few on top before serving.

Chia is grown naturally in the Kimberley region of Western Australia and we like to support Australian grown Chia.

Gladiator

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 to 2 scoops of Sun Warrior Protein (any flavour)
  • 1 tbsp of your favourite green superfood (Spirulina, Chlorella, Barley-grass or Wheatgrass)
  • ½ -1 ripe banana
  • Your choice of 1 tbsp of flax, hemp or coconut oil
  • A few grams of Stevia powder (optional)
  • Ice (optional)

Blend or shake well in a shaker jar

  • ½ -1 ripe banana

Blend with ice (optional) to give a smooth thick texture

  • 1 cup water

  • 1 ripe banana
