Projecting the Real You

Projecting the Real You

TheDailyOm.com is a fantastic site I get emails from daily. This site I may even claim as my favorite one!
I usually find that the emails I sign up for, over time or even instantly, start speaking to me and telling me exactly what I need to hear on that exact day. They really start to sync up with your life. This is because the Universe wants to work WITH you to help amp up your quality of life and how happy/content, etc. you are in it!

Here’s a little snippet of one of their messages that I wanted to post today:

“Being yourself is key to developing fulfilling relationships with individuals whose ideals and ethics are similar in composition to your own. Many people put on airs or hide their true natures under layers of deception because they feel they must connect with as many people as possible. The result, however, is often the establishment of a multitude of short-term, unsatisfying relationships. When you allow your natural ebullience and affability to shine, people will be drawn to you because of who you are rather than who they would like you to be. The foundation of your relationships will be sincerity and a shared esteem that has its roots in the soul. You’ll enter into long-lasting and rewarding relationships today when you let others see the real you.”

I definitely experienced moments in my life where I noticed, to some degree, that I found myself subtly altering to be a certain way based on other’s thoughts and projections – what I thought would make me happy, how I thought I should be, how I thought other’s would like me to be.

It took me a nice chunk of time, some un-conditioning and major self-awareness, to begin to get comfortable again with who I am, growing up in this world, without too many of the outside influences.

Of course, we are a product of many things: our environment, our friends, family, work choices, what we watch on TV, our entertainment choices, food choices, social choices, and underneath all of that, you have an authentic self that shines through in all of those situations.

Our environmental influences aren’t bad at all, many of them help reveal our greatness! Sometimes, though, we may get lost in the mix or influenced to the point where we aren’t happy with who we are. This can lead us to be a little more constructed than authentic.

At your core, you are a conscious spirit. A spirit having a physical experience, not the other way around.

Getting really clear and comfortable with your “spark” is one of the biggest keys to getting all of your emotional needs met and to feeling really cool, content, peaceful, and happy with yourself.

It’s really worth it to be as much you as possible, to get to know you, especially if you feel a little lost or overly constructed by what’s around you, and not to worry too much or even at all, with what other’s think ( unless you are purposely hurting someone, yourself, or going against your own values – these cases may be made better with some help/advice).

And remember, there are no fingers to be pointed! It’s no one’s fault, not even yours, if you get confused or “lost” about yourself, it happens, and most importantly, it is an awesome learning experience to show you what’s you and what’s not.

So simply be aware, let go of any guilt, fear, self-pity, anger, etc. and make the shift.

We are all in a constant state of change, every day.

You are in control of your emotions, actions, and reactions. You have the power and choice to change any habitual reactions AND to let your true self shine through, so let yourself shine!

When you let yourself shine, you allow healthy relationships in, and you allow yourself to be vulnerable, which is one of the keys to a solid, fulfilling relationship, especially with friendships.

You know you better than anyone else. Get to know that authentic person. I bet if you dig deep enough or simply uncover your authentic self more and more every day, you’ll find that he or she is pretty awesome.

You will have a more fulfilling, fun, and authentic life by revealing your authentic self, surrounded by people who you really enjoy and who really enjoy you, AND who YOU actually lift up with your genuine presence. Talk about a pretty kick-ass feeling!

Enjoy YOU today and share it with all of us!

Love
Lianda
