Let’s get one thing out of the way up front: I’m a man. A red-blooded American man (although I’m not too different from my Australian or European counterparts). And up until recently, my “routine” every day was the same. Wash my face in the shower with soap, and occasionally put moisturizer on my face when I remembered to do so while combing my hair. My big achievement for 2013 was moving from Dove Soap to Dove Gentle Exfoliating Soap, which occurred not out of any active choice but simply because the grocery store was out of the regular kind.
So even though I was and am well aware of KORA Organics’ ingredients, origins, and incredible results (full disclosure: I work with the brand), just like any other guy out there, skincare wasn’t something on my to-do list. I put time and effort into shopping at the right stores, eating the right foods, and trying to look fashionable, but the thought of putting on an entire skincare routine every morning (not to mention every night) was daunting and not something I ever really got around to.
It’s difficult to overemphasize the importance of sun protection if you want to have beautiful, youthful, vibrant skin. As much as the sun is responsible for all life, the reality is that too much sun on the skin causes enormous damage to our skin cells and ultimately, can result in cancer cell growth.
Even if you never get cancer, who wants the effects of sun-damaged skin? Think: premature aging, wrinkles, sun spots and more.
Rosehips are the fruit of the rose plant and are one of the best plant sources of Vitamin C, which is important for the immune system, skin and tissue health and adrenal function. Consider reaching for rosehip tea next time you need a health boost or for our powerful Luxurious Rosehip Oil if you need a beauty boost!
One of my beauty tips for when I wake with a tired complexion is to splash my face several times with cold water, this leaves me with a firmer, brighter looking complexion, and it’s also a great way to wake up and energise yourself!

Dry brushing is a fantastic health practice to exfoliate dry skin, increase circulation and improve the drainage of toxins via the lymphatic system. For best results brush your skin when it is dry, because plant bristles exfoliate dry skin best when they are dry. If plant bristles are wet, they become soft and clump together and you don’t get the same results. If you are a morning person, I would dry brush quickly before you hop into a shower. Alternatively, if you prefer to spend the time at night, this will be a good way to unwind, brush one hour before heading to bed, so you will enjoy a good nights sleep.
"The vitality of internal organs, working properly, transcends your skin and brings radiance to your face." Dry brushing your face with soft plant bristle can rejuvenate tired, dull skin.
Exfoliation is one of the most important parts of a beauty regimen. It rejuvenates and energizes your skin and improves circulation. All of these combined result in a better, healthier looking complexion.
Dry body brushing is a traditional natural health practice, which involves brushing over the skin dry, followed by a shower or bath.
A lot of benefits of dry body brushing are not necessarily something you can only see… but also what you feel. My clients tell me they feel energised after brushing and the reason for that is body brushing stimulates our circulatory system. Dry body brushing stimulates the connective tissue attached to the capillaries sitting under the skin, to improve circulation travelling to the heart. It also assists the lymphatic flow around the body. The lymph relies on muscle movement to pass through the body so if you are not an active person, dry body brushing is a wonderful tool to stimulate the lymph flow so that you are ridding the body of waste and toxins daily. Some key benefits of dry body brushing are:
If you require a heartier skin routine as the seasons change, trade in your foaming cleanser for a creamy formulation. The KORA Organics Cream Cleanser gently cleanses away impurities, make up and congestion without leaving a filmy residue.
Did you know that you should feed your skin the way you feed your body?
Something I learned from KORA Organics: if you are going to give your skin real, certified organic “food,” then you should probably feed your skin more than once a day.
Three times a day would be better.
Why? Because certified organic skin care such as KORA, which is primarily composed of plant-derived certified organic ingredients, is healthy for your skin because its organic makeup allows it to be taken in by the skin cells, circulated, and excreted… just the way our body cells do with food.
